My rating: 3.5 out of 5
Here it is: the final album of the Canadian Pop-Punk band. It’s a double album uniting both their musical sides – Punk and Metal. To be honest, I was not a big fan of Sum 41, but I love their hits (Fat Lip, Still Waiting, In Too Deep, and Pieces), and I value their work and contribution to alternative and pop music. I felt sad when I heard they will split up after at least one more tour, but more because I didn’t get the chance to see them live last year in my hometown, and it’s a bummer the last tour won’t make a stop here.
The album comes with 20 pieces of fresh and familiar-sounding music. The first half of it features the punky side of Sum 41, while the second half focuses on their metal side. The LP features some great bangers as well as some fillers for my taste. The cover artwork is mediocre, though. This post isn’t meant to be a detailed critique, rather than a quick review.
Heaven :x: Hell was released on March 27th, 2024.
